Boy And Butterfly

This painting rather the figure depicted in it reminds me of a drawing I did while in class. It was a simple drawing but I still have it till this day because it captured a moment in my life better than a picture ever could. I find paintings and drawings can express things in ways some pictures can’t, with drawings you can exaggerate certain things that carry amplified meaning, although photographs can do the same in some sense I feel personally drawings can express more to me. This painting is actually done by Remedios Varo and she has a very interesting style, I love the line by line look she has almost a gritty look but its at the same time really clean looking and that really brings out a lot of dark vibes I see in her paintings. She actually has a lot of nice works and I will definitely check her out more.
